As you may have noticed, we have just launched Teabot 0.1.5. This version changes a lot, but mostly under the mask, so you won't see many new features. But, let's take a look what we've done:

  • The mechanism that sends messages was totally redesigned and commands are now launched in separate threads.
  • Added set command, which allows you to change Teabot's language (and probably some more settings in future), so you won't need to do this via Teabot's webpage anymore.
  • Some improvements in handling mistyped commands (should also work with help command).
  • Fixed some UTF8 problems in lyrics command.
  • Teabot is now a bit more flexible and there are more configuration options (from the administration side).

What we wanted to achieve with this release was to make Teabot more stable, and make it respond a bit faster to the queries. We hope there will be no stability issues, and you'll enjoy the new version.

After long break, we're announcing version 0.1.4.3 of Teabot. We fixed some bugs you were mentioning in your suggestions, and added some nice features. The changes are, as follows:

  • Teabot now tries to guess the true name of mistyped command.
  • There's now a ping command, which just "pongs".
  • Teabot has a 'free for chat' status by default.
  • Fixed bug with "help suggest".
  • help displays help in English, pomoc in Polish.
  • wiki command result contains proper licensing information.

We are also sorry for Teabot being offline for some time lately and for all this unconvenient restarts, but we had some server problems, which we'll try to avoid in future.

Recent problems with using Teabot from Tlen accounts seem to be solved. If there were any problems with subscription or after adding to roster, Teabot didn't send a welcome message and didn't respond to any messages, please try adding Teabot once again to your Tlen contact list. If you still find Teabot not working properly, please post a message on the forum or contact us directly.

We managed to launch a Teabot Wiki (currently available only in Polish) at: http://wiki.teabot.org, so any help in gathering all the "Teabot knowledge" (how does it work, etc.) and the "Jabber knowledge" (what Jabber is, how to use it, what are available Jabber clients, etc.) will be greatly appreciated. With your help we may be able to build a comprehensive source of knowledge about all XMPP/Jabber world.

We also want to thank Teabot users, especially two of them: The Stranger and szatox for all the help with improving this webpage, so that the information here is now more accurate and helpful.
