  • What is Teabot?

    When Infobot developers decided to make it unavailable for other than Gadu-Gadu IM networks, we (the Teabot developers) came up with an idea to create an alternative. The alternative available to all XMPP/Jabber users (and compatible protocols, such as Google Talk), which would allow users to do even more than they could do using Infobot. The name of this project is Teabot (earlier it was known under codename Dagda). Teabot is intended to be a great tool, consisting of Jabber bot and a website, which would allow users to customize Teabot to their needs.

  • Where to start?

    In order to use Teabot, you only need an account in XMPP/Jabber (or compatible, such as Google Talk) network. Add teabot@teabot.org to your roster. You will be welcomed by Teabot, and then you can start using it.

  • How can I log in to this website?

    If you want to log in, you have to enter your Jabber ID and password (the Teabot password, not the one to your Jabber account) into the login form. In order to get password, ask Teabot for it by typing 'password' command. Teabot will generate a random password and send it to you. Then you'll be able to log in and change the given password.

  • I forgot my password

    Stay calm. If you forgot your password, Teabot can generate a new one for you. You only need to enter the command 'password' and your new password will be sent to you.

  • I've added Teabot to roster, logged in on the website, and what now?

    Use the 'help' command to get the list of available commands. Use 'help command' if you want more info on a specific command. You can also check the command list available online.

  • What's going on with the RSS feeds?

    We've already prepared a default list of available RSS feeds. You can get them with 'news' command (e.g. 'news sport'). You can also add your own RSS feeds, using your user panel on the website. For instance, if you add a feed 'http://teabot.org/feeds/news' with name 'myfeed', and send Teabot a 'news mychannel' command, Teabot will send you news from this feed.
